“Cheesus Christ” 2019, by Ash Catalan.
“This is one of my proudest works. Despite the fact that it’s sacrilegious, it was one of my favorite pieces to work on. I drew the initial sketch on paper and then scanned the line-art into Photoshop. From there, I did all the coloring and background inside Adobe Photoshop using custom brushes and textures. This is one of my pieces that I feel like represent me in a more accurate way because of this piece’s offensive nature. I used a lot of surreal elements that I felt would look good together.”
Bio: I’m Ash Catalan, a 16 year old high school student with the drive to create pieces that people enjoy. I enjoy making drawings that I feel like I can feel proud to call my own. I work in a variety of mediums, and I love to try out new mediums too. It’s been my goal to make a future for myself out of creating artwork and using my passion to create lasting impacts on people. Other than art, I also do work in journalism at my high school’s newspaper as Editor-in-Chief.
