“Dragon” 2019, by Ash Catalan.
“The biggest inspiration this year for me was japanese style. I became infatuated with drawing dragons, clouds, and waves that were similar to Japanese art styles. This was one of the results- a large dragon that I inked and scanned into Photoshop and edited. This was one of my more detailed works, as I hand drew every single scale on the dragon to ensure that they all fit nicely in the drawing.”
Bio: I’m Ash Catalan, a 16 year old high school student with the drive to create pieces that people enjoy. I enjoy making drawings that I feel like I can feel proud to call my own. I work in a variety of mediums, and I love to try out new mediums too. It’s been my goal to make a future for myself out of creating artwork and using my passion to create lasting impacts on people. Other than art, I also do work in journalism at my high school’s newspaper as Editor-in-Chief.
