Ellie Cohen is a current junior at Westlake High School. She has dabbled in creative writing in the past, winning the Scholastic Art and Writing National Silver medal for her short story in eighth grade; today, however, she prefers nonfiction writing.
Ellie’s hobbies include struggling to complete her Physics homework, awkwardly trying to avoid eye contact with her incredibly scary cat, obsessing over the prospect of college, and spending money she doesn’t have.
She has three younger siblings and participates in HOSA, Destination Imagination, and Girls in Computer Science Club despite having absolutely no interest in a career in computer science. She is involved in her Synagogue, both as a teacher’s assistant at her Sunday school and as a past president of the Austin chapter of United Synagogue Youth (USY). Ellie is also freakishly passionate about skin cancer, and will happily talk your ear off about it (the disease is extremely common yet highly preventable with sunscreen!).
