We are a group of local high schoolers who promote the fundraising efforts of organizations that help Austinites who are being negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
These people include the homeless, workers in the service and hospitality sectors, low income people, and renters–groups that have seen a reduction in basic services and wages due to the economic fallout of the virus.
Currently, we are promoting two funds created by the Austin Community Foundation which serve as great central repositories for people to make a difference in our city by giving: AllTogetherATX and StandWithAustin.
If you are able, the best thing you can do at this time is to donate and spread the word about both funds on social media.
Below, you will find information on both funds and how you can give; if you’re interested in promoting this content via social media/a personal site, see the links listed below to find social media photos and templates.
If you are part of a local nonprofit that works to alleviate food insecurity and support basic needs (rent, utilities, etc), employment, and child care, we urge you to apply to receive grants from either fund. Details for how to apply are listed below.

The All Together ATX Fund was created by a coalition of philanthropic leaders across the community to provide flexible resources to organizations working with communities who are disproportionately impacted by the coronavirus and the economic consequences of the outbreak.
Created in partnership by Austin Community Foundation and United Way for Greater Austin, the All Together ATX Fund is designed to complement the work of public health officials and expand local capacity to address all aspects of the outbreak as efficiently as possible.
The Fund seeks to deploy resources in a phased approach, focused first on the most affected and later on long-term recovery and sustainability for the nonprofit sector.

It is estimated that SXSW has upwards of a $350 million economic impact on the people and businesses that fuel the city-wide festival experience. The economic ripple effect of the cancellation will be wide-ranging and will impact the hard-working members of our service and creative industries the hardest.
The Fund accepts charitable donations to support nonprofits assisting individuals and small businesses most negatively impacted by the cancellation of SXSW and least able to recover on their own. The Fund is targeting $1MM in fundraising. We seek to deploy the Fund’s resources exclusively in support of the talented people that rely on SXSW for their livelihood.
